Within the framework of the CES 2015 held in January 2015, Kodak introduced its debut smartphone IM5. It was assumed that the new product will go on sale before the end of the spring in the UK, but the unit did on the shelves in June and is currently available only in the Netherlands for € 280 ($ 315) or for free by connecting a subscriber contract with the local operators.
The smartphone is made in collaboration with Kodak British Bullitt Group, which is known to release protected smartphones CAT. IM5 is equipped with a 5-inch HD display (1280×720 pixels), an eight-MediaTek chipset clocked at 1.7 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory (there is support for memory cards microSD), the main 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel front camera, as well as the battery 2100 mAh.
Considering the main profile of the company Kodak, it has given its first smartphone set of special software, designed to work with photos. Kodak IM5 operating system Android KitKat, which is mounted on top of a proprietary interface Kodak UI, which should simplify the process of using the device. In the near future it is expected to release Kodak IM5 in other regions around the world.
